Taking the time to do the work right seems to have paid off with your wood working skillz. How heavy is the front canopy hinge part? It looks pretty heavy. How far off the water are the reflectors?

Keep it up man. Lets see some water and life in there.

That's the smilie I was lookin for!!!!

The front of the canopy Isn't that heavy, the hinge is about 8in's back from the front. The lumenarcs are way off the water right now, when filled looks like 5 1/2 inches.

Everybody else, thanks for the replies, next time let's not take so long that I have to ask!!!

I'd suggest diluting the salt in some water first, or you'll end up with some kind of Swedish salted fish delicacy.

I have my closed loop, skimmer, and overflows all plumbed up.

Now I need to connect the return pump, test for leaks, finish the rock work, get some bulbs, figure out how I want to set up my top off and mixed salt containers, etc...etc...etc.

I need a beer.

I think I'll drink way too much and see what happens

I'm thinking 3 big stacks/pillars, but rocks rarely do what I tell them to.This tank has way more surface area than my 90 so it's hard to say what will happen.I do have all my rock here in a loner vat from vince and it looks to be plenty.

I like the pillar look. I prefer the look of open spaces instead of the traditional "wall" look.

This is the first tank that I have had that has the width to pull this look off(maybe) The 90 is just to narrow and I always ended up with a wall. I've seen tanks I did'nt like done both ways. This guys tank has more like mounds than rocks stacked vertically Me likey!!

tanks with rock work like that IMO look great when all filled in and established, the seperation of the multiple structures make valleys that look awesome, i'll try to get some pics up later of mine thats what i did. i can ever get decent enough pics to show off. my neighbor is a photographer i'll see if he can come take some.

I am unsure about that pump. I know on the (HVAC) large pumps I used to work on, It made a HUGE difference..
Just in case, you know bulkhead can be mounted the other way (reversed) .. allowing for more room/ without cutting off piping.
JB, Why mount it like that? (I really like to make sure suction is below water level anyway..( If not add check valve?) (HVAC systems allways did)

BTW, when I throttled the suction side, I allways had damage, its easier on pump discharge side...
(aquaria pumps) The Mag 2's were very easy to destroy....

Just trying to use my space wisely to leave room for other equip. This is just a quick mock-up! Not sure about the loss of prime if mounted like this so I'm doin some checking! With the ball-valves this pump takes up alot of space!!!!
