Wildfires in NJ!!
Have you guys seen this on the news?
news clip 1 news clip 2 This is CRAZY! 13,500 acres torched, and with the low humidity and high winds, its like a tinderbox! Oh, and our military accidentally caused it with a practice bombing run when they released a flare as part of the training (to draw off heat seeking missles in real combat). Tons of evacuations, and I know from being in that exact area a week and a half ago, its SUPER dry there.. I race ATV's, and the track for the last two races is right there, just on the other side of the parkway. Needless to say, this weekends race has been postponed, and I'm bummed. I was looking to repeat my first in class from 5/6. Keep these firefighters and families in your thoughts please. I know some of the firefighters from the races (all our gate fees go to the two local fire co's, and they are always at the track)..

just got back home fire was about 1000ft from my house, thank god the rain came!!!!!!

Just got off the phone with my mom, (yes I have one ), she lives in Bridgeton, says it's pouring there so more rain is comming!!!

I'm in northern jersey, and this afternoon it POURED like crazy... but only for a few minutes..
Unfortunately, I doubt the rain during the next 2 days will do much, especially if it comes in little spurts like that.

I was in a teleconference today with people from all over. While we were waiting for the rest to join in, we were shooting the breeze and the subject of the NJ fire came up. One guy said "Wait, what? I'm in New Jersey and haven't heard anything about that."
Some people need to step outside of the office from time to time.

Hopefully this storm coming through the northeast will dump enough rain on Jersey to put out those fires.

You could smell the smoke in Manhattan today. It was really stong this morning.
Saying prayers for all of you living out that way, and the fire fighters too!
