is this ok?

I remodeled a KOHLS store and they were throwing out all of their acrylic displays and shelving -- The acrylic is 3/8" thick (length and width varies). Would this acrylic be thick and strong enough for a tank, also how would I go about starting to design a tank? Limitations on height/ width and length? I know that cell cast is best for tanks, but Iam not sure how to tell what type of acrylic it is. Iam new to this and just looking for some insight. Thank you for your help, Joe

Ihave used "Display" acrylic. It is extruded. It swells a lot when around moisture. It can be used for other things though...brackets, stands, etc.
I woulld not use it for anything critical. Like the tank...
