Just added 5 blue/green chromis, 2 nassarius snails, and a green slimer (thanks Xia!). Still trying to get a good, proportional photo of the tank.

Thanks guys! I'm running the same bulbs as Tim. 2x 250W SE reeflux 12K and 2x 110W URI VHO super actinics.

Looks really nice! What ballast are you running with those bulbs?

Mark, If you want you can stop by sometime this week or I can meet you at your reef sometime. I should be in there this week to get the rest of my stuff. Whatever works best for you.

fragaholic, I'm running a standard PFO ballast. Thanks!

Thanks Max! I'm not running reflectors on the VHOs (the reflectors are built into the bulb). I'm using a PFO ballast on those too. If your looking for a good deal on a VHO retro kit, hellolights.com has a 2 bulb ARO VHO retro for like $50.

pico: would you say that the vho is better to supplement or t5?

personally I like VHOs better as this is what a lot of amazing SPS tanks use but T5's usually have better par and more bulb options. There also more expensive. The URI super actinics really make the greens, reds, and oranges pop.

The difference between t-5 and VHO is a personal thing. I have seen some crazy t5 only tanks.
Jordan, are you free this weekend? Lets hook up.

I agree. Look at Peter's tank, makes me want to switch to T5's.

Mark, I am working Saturday and am leaving for the Bahamas on Sunday. Are you available anytime this week or are you busy with work? I can wait if you want but I figured you wanted the space for your stuff. LMK.

Jordan. The new job is cool, but the hours are later. I do not get home until 8 at night. That is probably too late. LMK

I'm only running the lights for 4-6 hours a day with fans until I get my chiller. This way I don't get more than a 2 degree flux. I'm still not sure which chiller I want.

Does your canopy open like these front or on top? I went to lfs and the 48x18 was top opening not like the much better front opening, like the ones pictured below. Hoping they have change the designed for the 90g.

Thanks Sam!

db_triggerfish, it opens up like the ones pictured, from the front.

Mark, thanks. Things have started to color up from their brown out but most of it still has quite a bit to go.

Nice tank! How is your nanostream wavemaker doing so far? Do you think it works better than turning the pumps on and off or set them on a controller?

I'd be careful with a blue throat trigger, I bought one from Exotic, he kept jumping into my overflow box (my tank top is covered with glass) and I might have to let him go:
