Typhoon Skimmer users, help please!!!!
After complete installation of this unit, I plugged it in for the first time. The water rises to the top and keep going, all the way out of the waste hose. There is absolutely no skimming at all. I tried adjusting the inflow, but that just reduces the water coming out a little.
Is there a locking mechanism that I have forgotten to turn on? I usually see working Typhoon with foaming action at the top, not water. Thanks in advance. |

Have you installed the air hose in the venturi? Is the little air adjuster piece on the end of the hose? if so is it open to let air in? Are there any blockages in the venturi?
Start up the skimmer with the hose off then add the hose after it is adjusted. I am going to add a T to mine this week to see if that alleviates the syphon problem. Call this site too....the makers of the skimmer http://www.danddmarine.com/index.html Keep us posted as to how it is working ![]() |

DandD doesn't work on the weekend. Gotta wait till monday.
I checked that air adjuster piece, didn't know i had to open it. After I opened it, it is injecting a lot of air into the skimmer. However, the flow out to the waste tube is still the same, just with more air. It's weird, like there is no skimmer at all, just an elaborate pump. All the water sucked in through the pump is going straight out. No stopping or pausing anywhere to skim. |

Did you instal the small tube that has holes in it to fire the water and air down into the skimmer body?

the adjustment is on the return arm in the tank, it is a plastic cap with slits in it. If the slits are lined up with the ones on the arm then the water is basically flowing free, if you turn it a bit it slows down and the water rises in the skimmer body. Take off the cap, that should bring the water level down, then add it so the slits line up on both the cap and arm, then slowly turn it until the water level in the skimmer body is just below the angle on the collection cup.

Yay, it works now. It overflowed for a little bit, then I keep twisting the cap, and the water slowed down. Then it stayed inside the skimmer body. I guess the way to reduce the water is allowing it to escape out of the slit. Thanks for your help. Saved me from waiting to monday to talk to the company.
