great pics kevinpo

i was just curious as to why you have what looks like a clay pot in your tank?? is that like a home for some gobies or something??

also, does your capricornis do better on the sandbed? i have noticed that to be somewhat of a popular trend these days, everywhere i look capricornis is layin on the sand, i first saw it in Shawn Benetts tank, he has 3 huge caps on the sandbed side by side

i also like your anthias, we have 3 of the exact same in our display at work, very active and energetic feeders

Hi kozmo02,
The flowerpot is for the clownfish to lay eggs in. When I moved them to their current home from the 80 gal they lived in for 5 years they quit laying eggs. I believe they didn't like all the new large fish I added. So after waiting 6 months or so I added the clay pot. Within a couple of days they were inside and shortly thereafter they laid eggs in it. That was a year ago. Since then they lay eggs every couple of weeks like they used to. I will have had them 7 years come Feb. 1st.

The caps grow so large so fast that they shade out other corals and take up too much real estate. I have 2 other caps near by that are in the rocks. One I had to breakup and sell most of. The other a green with purple rim I was lucky enough to have it grow out from the rockwork. The scale in my tank is deceiving. The orange cap is about 10" across.

I have 5 female, 1 super male, and 1 sub male lyretail anthias. I am very fond of anthias also.

Regards,
Kevin

Here are a couple pics from yesterday.. The lighting in this shot is 1 400w 20k radium and 1 175w 10k ushio. Both mounted in the center.

This is with just the radium on its own.
