To Loop or not to Loop

I am setting up my new 300 gallon and need some additional input on my circ. I have three Tunze 6100 that will be going in and I just bought an OM 4-way to use with my reeflo cuda for some serious closed loopness. My tank has no holes for a loop so this would be an over the back style with a manifold; spray bar and 4 main lines split to 8 nozzles.

I am wondering if I should just nix the hole closed loop. Sell the new OM 4-way and the reeflo cuda and just buy a couple of more streams. This would save on electricity in the long run. What do you guys think.

I was going to have a couple of the CL lines at the bottom front of the display blowing up towards the coral. I doubt I can get this same effect from the Tunze but I will have the ability to move them often.

SO SHOULD I LOOP THIS BAD BOY OR NOT

Yeah , Spend more money on Tunze and sell me the Barracuda and your 4 way .

I would love to have close loops but I bought the 390 and only ordered overflows. No way to have it drilled now . Go with the closed loop . The best I could do is have all the holes in the overflows as Durso down pipes and shoot water up the back side .

My tank has no holes for a CL either. This would be an over the back setup. Since my 300 is in wall the plumbing will be in the fish room anyway. I have seen many large tanks with no CL and they have been succesful with just power heads. I guess it cant hurt to add it in there and then just run it maybe on a timer.

I almost did away with the closed loop when I was building my tank. Felt like the plumbing was too much troulble. In the end I am glad I put in the closed loop.. much less trouble than powerheads in the longrun.

I guess I will go ahead and add it in. Its a little late to be drilling so this will have to be an over the back. My tank is a 300 starphire and I dont want to risk moving it again. I already drove the bastard 400 miles to get it here. The last time (and first time) I tried to drill a tank myself, lets just say it didnt go well.
