HELP Mushrooms leaving their rocks?!?

I have a 12gal aquapod with various softies. Lately, a bunch of my mushrooms have been unattaching themselves from the live rock. A couple have floated to other parts of the tank, and attached to to spots, however some are just floating around unattached. I just think its strange because they had stayed in the same spot for 5-6 months, and just in the last 3 weeks they have been mysteriously unattaching themselves. I'd say about 1/3 of them have come loose from their origional spot.

anyone have an idea of whats going on? Water paramaters are stable and the same that they have been for the last 4 months. Flow is the same, as well as temp and salinity. Could something be stinging them?

anyone have a good link for re-attaching the ones that have fallen off? Or a good way for fragging?

thanks in advance.

I dont know why they have come off the rocks but i can tell you haw to put them back on..like you said it might be stinging, i found too much current mae mine come off, however, they have to reattcah on thier own..(you cant use glue on them)

you can coherse them to attach to certain rocks...I do so by pulling the shrooms out, and the rocks you would like them attached too...then using a fine soft mesh (like the stuff garlic comes in) thats what i use cut a piece big enough to cover the rock...place the shrooms you want on that rock under the mesh...leave the mesh a little loose on the top so it isnt squishing or cutting into the shrooms and then using an elastic band wrap it around the rock to hold the mesh in place...they should attach in a couple days..

as for fragging...provided they are plain mushrooms and not ric's or Yuma's..place mushroom in the blender..chop lightly...through mess of mushroom on rock and repeat meshing process..<---though that may work you will have more success cutting them with a razor blade, into pieces, 1/4's 1/8's what ever you want and then using the above mesh technique you will have several mushrooms in days..each piece doesnt need a mouth to survive either..i had a couplle pieces floating around from some of mine that have attached and grown new mouths..the pieces were chunks that floated off the scissors when cutting them off the rocks in a the tank. most shroom from what i have gathered are vigorous grows and reproducers..

PS i see your into free riding...what kinda bike you have?
i was looking at selling/trading my current X country giant NRS XTC2 in for a Kona stinky or something along those lines..possibly only a stump jumper as i would like to get more into trials stuff..

i was only askin about his bike to see what he rides....i have no intention of selling a bike internationally that can be bought just as cheap locally..

and i am well aware that the forum isn't about selling bikes..i just found it nice someone shares another common interest

I have red mushrooms detach themselves fairly regularly. They settle into an area that they like and reattach. I think they do it b/c of overcrowding (at least in my tank).
