How big are Purple Death polyps?

I am just wondering how big the Purple Death polyps get.
I was under the impression that they were big.
I just bought a frag, and these polyps are smaller than almost any other zoa polyp I have.
Thanks for any help.

Uber high light, high flow, low nutrient tank = tiny and OK looking ~3/16"

medium light, medium flow, low nutrient tank = gorgeous looking and medium in size ~3/8"

low light, low flow, high nutrient tank = large n' ugly (brown) ~1/2"

That's my experience!

i'd have to agree with that assessment for the most part.

just give them time and dont blast them with too much light and flow like sps and they will look great as long as nothing is irritating them.

Yup, mine were tiny under higher light, but are coloring up better and getting larger under lower light.

It's nothing to fret over -- I've had them morph back and forth (sometimes intentionally, sometimes not) to my particular desired color/size.

Point being: put them somewhere in your tank according to that rough scale, give them about 3-4 weeks, and they'll look pretty close to what was described!

I asked the same question at www.club-zoa.com when i got mine.

Mine are small right now, hoping they get bigger. I also feed cyclopzeez flakes to them.

Now thats just purty!! Thats the way they are supposed to look!
Keep them happy and they will treat you right.
Just be carefull not to get that slime in a cut. Boy does that hurt!!
They are pretty nasty in warfare!!
I am happy everyone can enjoy these now. Just amazed how they spread across the country. Wonder if tyree regrets ignoring me when i offered them to him first?

Whodah is right on

I've got them in very bright light and they're a paler color with kind of whitish/grey skirts, but they're very healthy and are growing fast. I might frag it and move a few polyps to a more shaded area and see what happens.

yea, there seems to be this whole big ordeal between rc and culb-zoa ( intentionally misspelled ).

seems as if the management here is trying to erase history of any other reef site
