Nature's Image Coral Replicas - BEWARE

I bought two pairs of Nature's Image Dock Posts in November 2006. Less than two months later, paint is coming off of them, exposing the white material (base) underneath.

This completely contradicts Nature's Image's claim that the pieces are color-fast, and that the color is "solid throughout." -- I have only lightly brushed them off with a soft toothbrush, as per their care instructions - maybe a total of 5 times, so I can say without doubt that they have not been abused or treated roughly.

After this disappointing discovery, I e-mailed Walt Smith (owner of Nature's Image). That was over a month and a half ago, and I never received a response. -- This speaks volumes on their concept of product integrity and customer satisfaction, so BEWARE.

Here is a picture, showing how the paint is rubbing off:

At $35.00 a pair, I think I've been had! I just e-mailed the on-line retailer I bought them from ( Nature's Image Coral Reef ) to see if I get any sort of response from them, instead. I have asked for a refund. I will update when I can.

Walt contacted me today and offered to either replace the dock posts or to send the retailer two new pairs of dock posts in exchange for a refund to me.

I prefer the refund route, as the aforementioned paint problem would reoccur if he were to replace the dock posts, but we'll see how it works itself out.

Will update the thread as appropriate.
