Hooray for peppermint shrimp!!

I just took a midnight cruise around my reef with a flashlight... not ONE Aiptasia in sight. I'm thrilled! Before Christmas I was nuking the little pests left, right and centre with kalk paste and they just kept pop... pop... popping back up. Seemed like two came back for every one I killed off. On boxing day I bought three little peppermint shrimp, not even sure they'd manage to survive with a big coral banded and two pistol shrimp in the tank (and a mantis I found later on and still can't get out), but they've found themselves an overhang in the back where they hide most of the time and stay out of trouble. I never really see them out and about, but they must be wandering the tank at night and finding all the Aiptasia. They're just the best invisible pets ever, I adore my peppermints

Yes, when they work in the aiptasia war it is awesome. I have had a similar experience as you with them.

Then tommarow I may be doing the same!

I have been at war for several months now. As long as I am not on vacation I keep it under control, but I am not even close to getting rid of them. It F ing SUCKS! I need to put 3 in my tank and 1 in my refugium.

Yeah I love my Pep. The one I have currently is a year old. I had a few spots of aiptasia in the tank when I first put it in and havent seen any since. He is rather large, bout the same size as my Skunk cleaners.

Just put three in the tank and it seem that they are already working.

That's a good feeling
