Hey Joey - how was your coffee this morning?

Minn. Store Sells Coffee Made From Digested Cat Beans

Crowds in Minnesota are paying $10 per cup for coffee made from beans digested by Indonesian cats and then gathered from their feces, according to a Local 6 News report.

An 8-ounce cup of Kopi Luwak coffee is for sale at Jim Cone's "Coffee and Tea Limited" store in Minneapolis.

The Civet cats eat the coffee, digest it and then the makers harvest the remnants from their excrement.
"It's a unique product," roastmaster Jim Cone said. "You have to have an army of Civet cats to pick this stuff and process it."
"I'm really interested because of the way that it's processed," coffee lover Bonnie Riley said.

Some drinkers admit the process may be gross, but say the coffee is great.
"It is very rich and soft," Kopi Luwak drinker Alex Danzberger said. "There's definitely a different flavor to it and you can't quite describe what it is. I hate to think what it is but it is very good."

Civets also emit a substance that is sometimes used in perfumes.
Kopi Luwak isn't offered at major chains like Starbucks.
One-pound bags of the coffee sell for $420.

I'm a coffee snob and caffeine addict. I've heard of this one, and I'll tell you, this is where I draw the line. I wouldn't do it on a dare, let alone pay 400.00 for the privilege...

You have to wonder if the makers had a bet on this. You have to be a serious addict to want coffee passed through a cat. eeeewwww.

theres some coffee that is made from beans that have been passed throught the digestive tract of some sort of primate i think, and it's the most expensive coffee in the world, and there is only a small amount produced each year.

Wait a minute! You're saying I'm supposed to take the beans out of the turds BEFORE brewing them? I'm gonna go brush my teeth.

If 10 people each send me a dollar, I'll gladly go to the coffee shop this weekend, buy a cup, and drink it up.

I'll even take pics to prove it.

you're a bit mistaken- Kopi Luwak IS the coffee you're thinking of- and primates arent involved- just the Civets.
