Sump for 60" 120g
I just got new 120g tank because my 50g softie tank has leak now (40 years old acrylic lab tank). Anyway, I have to move all corals out to new tank. I'm planning on making/getting a sump- using 30g or less tank or rubbermaid container.
Tank is 60" x 18", I think 26" height- standard 120 H marineland glass tank. I have 2 hang-on overflows and will be using one for other tank. My extra overflow is rated for 600 GPH. I'll be using Mag 9 for return flow with SCWD and Kent Nautilus TE skimmer. So, what size sump should I go with? I have space next to tank about 28" x 18", can go as high as 20". I'm looking at about 2" overflow which is about 10g so maybe need 20g tall or somewhere between 20g to 35g.

I had the exact same tank till I upgraded and I used a 30g long tank as the sump, it worked for a year no problems on a softy reef with some heavy poopers.

I got 30g long tank in storage but it's 36" long and wont be able to fit on side... Maybe I'll get 29g.
