Attaching mushrooms??

We recently purchased a rhodactis mushroom who has unattached itself from its rock. We have been unable to place it somewhere else that it does move, or is not moved from.

Does anyone have suggestions as to how to attach it to a rock? If we glue it, can we apply the glue directly to its soft tissue? Will a rubber band work until it attaches?

Happy holidays.

I have had sucess sticking a toothpick through the center of the mushroom and then poke the toothpick in a hole in a rock. Took a few days and the mushroom attached to the rock, I pulled the tooth pick out.

Super glue does not work very often on mushrooms. Use a piece of cheese cloth loosely over the mushroom and it will attach itself in a few days.

I just place it on a rock with low(no) flow in the area and will naturally attach or push it into a small crevice or hole

Yeah, I have some that the only way I have ever successfully fragged them was to put them in an area they could not float away from (I have used those freshwater hangon qt/birthing things), place rubble in there and the shrooms would attach themselves over time. Then take the piece they stick to and glue THAT to the rock you want it on. Works more consistantly than anything else I have tried. You can also get a small shallow dish, rock, shroom, then mesh over the top to keep it from floating away.
