Oh No What Happened To Him?!??!?!?!?



Not the best pic but he is shy.......he was fine not 2 hours ago. I came to take a few pics of the tank and noticed this. It is like intestine looking or something i dont know. Is it a cut or are his insides indeed coming out.

oh, that is awful looking!!!!! is the fish swimming erratically??? i am just guessing on these............ do you have any crabs in the tank?? i had a sallylightfoot crab kill a hippo before!!! what are you feeding????

Wow! Man on man. Wish I could help but that looks like a case for someone a little more experienced with marine anatomy. It definitely appears to be intestine...but to what extent the severity is or what kind of chances it has at survival, I have no idea. If it doesn't appear to be in any pain or discomfort (doubtful) then maybe it will become necrotic and fall off? I'd just play it a day at a time for now. Keep us updated! Definitely a case for everyone to be aware of!

How long have you had it and what kind of tang is it? I have heard of cyanide caught fish expelling their guts and then dying BUT if you have had it for a while and it has been eating and doing OK prior I wouldn't know what to tell you.
