Ow god please help me!!

Ok I have been offered 5 LATZ!
for everyone that is: Wide Banded Clownfish!

But I have no where to put them!

Could I house them in a 25 gal tank with around 25LBS of LR and 15LBS of LS. Ill have a small sump...
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...px?id=78838250

This is where I am going to house my skimmer and thats it not really going to set-up a refugium.
But could I house them in a 25gal before I can set up 75gal tank to house the family group?
I have no idea about the skimmer yet.

i'm a bit confused, but it sounds like you're either getting (or already got) 5 clownfish? If so, 5 clowns should never be kept in the same tank. Thats just asking for trouble. Even if its a 300g tank, they're gonna run into each other sometime down the road, tho it may not be anytime soon.

5 clowns + same tank = bad news

I don't think clowns have "family groups". I mean, there's the whole Nemo story and all, but they weren't your typical example.

Not really a 'family', but in the wild, they are found in small groups consisting of the dominant female, the male, and the lower echelons of substantially smaller genderless subordinates . This usually doesn't work out in most home aquaria, though.

That would kinda suck....spending your life as a "genderless subordinate". Glad I avoided that dominant female setup at my house I guess, huh?

Not really. Think about all you could accomplish if you didn't have to worry about the opposite sex. Reminds me of a Sienfeld episode.

Ok driften off topic

I am getting 5, I want to try them as a family group but if it dosn't work then I can split them up. I have room for 100 gall tank so that just give me that xtra 30gal of room to work with
I want to get them as a family group from the wild so they will be accustom to being with each other. But what equipment do I need to house them temporally?

There may be a problem with your theory. If they are wild caught, there may already be sets of males and females--that will NOT work. If they are all juveniles, you may have some better luck. I would keep them in as spacious an accomodation as possible, also keeping an eye out for diseases, such as Brooklynella hostilis, etc. A large quarantine (or larger divided one) may work well.

Let me translate what clownfish-god is saying:
"I don't really want any input on what is best for the
fish. I'm getting all five if it hairlips the Pope. Now
tell me what equipment I should use to kill some of
them!"

By the way, I found a sweet deal on some Beluga
Whales. What kind of skimmer should I use??

Hope that you have a few thousand dollars to spend setting up a 100gal. Two probably wont do it... three might... four you could get a really nice set up. But all the money in the world wont buy you the time you need to set up a tank. Marine aquariums are not over night projects... they take months to get ready for fish, and years to become seasoned properly.

These fish are not really pets... they're part of the whole aquarium. You don't just throw water, rocks, sand and fish in a tank and watch it.

If you really want to get an aquarium for clowns, do so... but the fish come much much later.

Hay their is no reason to talk to me like that, I have been reading about clowns and if I want them to breed the best options is pairs. So I am getting 4 and splitting my 75gal in half for them.
What would be a good list of equipment for this tank?

Also someone PM me and I deleated it my accident, please re PM me.
