Aqua C Urchin Skimmer

Anyone have any exxperience with this skimmer?

I have a 72 bow w/15 gallon sump. I currently only have the hang on Prizm and want to upgrade.

Im a little hesitant because the urchin is rated only up to 75 gallons, though it gets good reviews. I am getting it used for under 100 bucks.

thoughts?

Urchin is a bit undersized for such a tank. Its a good skimmer though. If you have a smaller bioload it would do ok. I used to run one on a 55g and moved up to one of the Octopus skimmers.

The Urchin is a decent skimmer for smaller tanks, but it really would probably be only marginally better than the Prizm for your application. I would save up a little more and get a larger/better skimmer.

I've never used the ASM G2, but everyone I've known loves them. I have seen one at a LFS and it really seems to pull out thick, dry foam. It would be an excellent choice if you can afford it.
