Talking just a CTARS survey

This is a significant other survey. How many of you conflict about your aquarium purchases with your significant other?

My fiancee has been in this hobby longer than I have so my answer would be "not I"

This hobby has been a double-edged sword for me. If I go out and buy something expensive, she won't fall for the "Honey I swear it was only $20" story anymore. (I think the overnight packages from all over the US are a giveaway) But its nothing a little Tiffany's won't fix!

My wife and I usually go to the store together. She's even brought some home on her own! She can't wait until we start our basement 180 project....

My husband's completely supportive of the hobby, helps out with water changes and feeding. And most importantly, he's also supportive financially.

Depends on the month..I am not allowed to buy anything this month after the last credit card bill came in . It wasn't me, I swear

Hopefully next month I will start buying more stuff, I still need one more Vortech pump, more fish, more corals, more everything.

Hi, my name is Keith and I am a reefaholic.

well.... it all depends on what mood she's in, one day she loves it the next she hates it. Funny thing is while I'm at work all day she's on reef central, calling me and letting me know when someone posts corals for sale and responds in my behalf. (that's how I support my (coral) wh@ring) She does have her own tank, I bought her a 24 gal AP for mothers day. So all in all I got a keeper.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as Jas . My wife loves the tank , except when it takes up to much time that could be spent on family stuff or I splurge on something and she finds out how much . She always enjoys going to stores or aquariums and definetly suprises me all the time with the stuff she picks up from me and the meetings . She has expessed interest in setting up a tank but also doesnt want anymore than the 3 we already have . I think it all comes down to how you include and share the hobby with them and ultimately how much they love you and are willing to endure . Im also a reefaholic .

my x hated the tank and always got jelous, good thing we're over, I would buy corals and tell her they were for her cause they might have pink on them or something, never worked. Question 1 in my dating: Suppose I spent the whole day working on my aquarium instead of hanging out with you, would you get ****ed? haha

Well fellow reefaholics, great stories. I wanted to hear other people's experiences. My girl loves my tank (she calls it "hers", but I only let her on certain occassions)

It is a trade off with my wife. I buy a piece of equipment or livestock, she gets to buy something "shiny," and visa-versa. She got the new Motorola Slver when it first came out, and I got a custom made RR 120 with low iron glass. Everyone is happy in the end.
