where to find Southdown sand?

anywhere in the area that sells southdown. I'm going to be moving to naples in a month and want to get my tank set up in advance. Point me in the right direction

Some and I repeat SOME!!! HD carry that , youll wanna call around first, they might be able to order you some or at least show you the right direction to get some!!!

I don't think your going to fins it unless you find someone selling it.

It was never sold in FL and if it was, it was EXTREMELY few and far between or a manager had a pallet of it brought in.

I believe it is no longer made as well.

I have been to 5 different LOWES over the last three months and all of them had plenty of the stuff right here in central fl. You just have to know what you are looking at.

I just went to Lowes in South Tampa and they carried Quickrete - It looked like it was all silica sand. What kind is aragonite?

I know where to find mountains of it!! Over the years I have come to learn that Southdown takes on many shapes and names. Southdown is no longer "Southdown". See here: http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=822932

Aragonite is aragonite!! If you can believe this, there are lots of new articles out there that say silca sand is okay on your tank. I run BB with a remote DSB consisting of Yardright sand found at Lowes. (It's not aragonite.)
