what do you feed your tang?

after giving up on tangs for three years, I decided to give it another try. I recently acquried a juvenile yellow tang, and of course it has ICH. I don't think it will be a problem, and I plan on curing him with good diet.

Right now, he is eating formula one/two, mysis shrimps, and nori dipped in garlic. What other things are you guys feeding your tangs to keep them healthy and immune to diseases?

ours loves anything green!!! It definately went nuts for caulerpa though, the stuff never lasts more than a few days!! It got ich we we first got it too, but it went away after just a few days. Would definately recommend caulpera and to soak your meaty food in garlic and Vitamin C as well.

I feed my tangs tons of stuff. Here is what I found they like the most.

Nori soaked in vitamins
Mysis
Plankton
formula two
Brine shrimp
cyclop eeze
Marine Cuisine
Emerald entree
Prime Reef
Macros from the fuge (Chaeto, caulerpa, some unidentified alga)

I found they they don't like squid or bloodworms. Anyway, my hippo and yellow tangs are both about six years old and have almost tripled in size! They have only had ick once and it ran its course very quickly. It hardly even slowed em down. GL with your tang!

thanks for the reply guys.

Vitamin C in liquid form that you find in supplement sections? It really is amazing how these marine animals can benefit from land diet. How about some pictures of your fat tangs? Motivate me please.

I really like the Aquatrol brand spirulina flake. Every tang I've ever had has loved that stuff.

nori and pellets, he likes the pellets a LOT more than the nori, it's odd.
