bad hermit crabs
Ugh, so I was supposed to have had this in another thread, sorry to start a new one.
![]() I'm aware of the fact that hermit crabs are opportunistic, going after snails sometimes for the shell, but is that the only downside to them? Are they specifically bad in a given situation, or is it just the overall agressiveness?

My hermits leave my snails alone for the exception of cleaning there shells. They mind there own business in my tank.

Hermit crab attack?
I don't want to blame them without cause but my green brittlestar was not feeling well and the next thing I know he had a hole in his disk and all but one of his arms had the tips cut off. A big hermit crab was on top of him having a snack. I am trying to find out myself if I should get rid of the largest ones because of what I saw.

If you can keep them well feeded, they are less likely going to bother other livestocks.
Whenever you noticed they molten about 2 times, be ready to provide a new shells, with appropriate sizing... for dying livestocks, they tends to going to snack them off.... |
