Iodine
I have heard mixed results on dosing iodine. I have heard that it promotes premature molting in shrimp and the like and causes harm to them. is this a valid statement. can anyone shed some light on the use of iodine. I dose half the recommended amount I am scared I do not want to harm my shrimps (but I dose cause its good for my clams).
any input is greatly appreciated. thanks

All of what you say is correct. Shrimp will get enough from their food.

I do not think that anything that we routinely keep need supplemental iodine. I've had shrimp living in my tank for years, and I've not added any supplemental iodine for more than 5 years.
