You might want to try Absolutely Fish in West Clifton, NJ. Sounds far but it's just 15 minutes over the GWB.

It is cheaper to but on-line and pay for shipping than getting any coral from House of Fins. They are insanely expansive. Absolutely Fish is much more reasonable but the selection is not that great as far as SPS is concerned.

Have you looked into animal kingdom in brewster? Its a general all pet store but there are some locals that sell their frags to them so you may find stuff you normally wouldnt in there. Other then that, thats as close to carmel i get. Nothing in the danbury area except of reefers but there are a few of us so maybe a local hobbiest deal?

wentreefgirl,
Where in Brewster? Are there two Animal Kingdom’s? There is one in Mahopac (little south of Brewster) but I think they stopped selling fish related stuff couple of months ago.

One off of exit 19 next to kohls and home depot. Have a shark tank in the front of the store and a nice fish room with lots of more up to date coral then i can get locally. They also have inverts, macro algae and a great selection of equiptment.

DMK,
My tank is in Mount Vernon, that is the starting point of my radius I don't want to travel more than +- 1 hour to go to a store. I'll check the store in Clifton.

what are there prices like? can you give an example? I would hate to go there from Staten Island just to find myself going home empty handed.

Mike, AF is pretty expensive. Good stuff to look at usually, though the prices aren't anything special.

HoF has an awful SPS selection, i was in there 2 weeks ago and they had like 12 acros.

You guys should check out JawsII in Elmsford, right near the Tappanzee bridge and Tarrytown, he always has a decent selection of both Corals and Fish.

Polywise, I am surprised you have a glass tank, if you know what I mean.

You wouldn’t happen to have a phone number or an address for this place would you?
