odyssea or coralife

i already have the coralife aqua mount on tank (the clamp) but I need some actinics to show some of my inhabitants colors..and I came along odyssea (20" 3 power cords moonlights); my tank is a viaaqua 21g and is 20" long.

link to ebay odyssea

I would like some info...maybe someone already has the odyssea system; is it worse than coralife (speaking quality of building?)

thank you

i dont have one, but Odyssea is the brand from oquatraders...after everything i read about that company i would avoid these lights. You can do a search for aquatraders on here and you will get about a 15page thread. I read the entire thread...after 2 hours of reading i was convinced not to take the chance...

I think i will go with a different light. Hellolights.com has a 250W fixture on sale for 239...for me the extra 70$ is worth not having my house burn and saving the headache

but i have no personal experience with these guys.
Goodluck!

thx for the replies guys......BUT

1) i already have the coralife fixture (except it has no actinics wich bothers me to death)

2) i already have a 20k XDM bulb wich is not so blue

3) i was planning to buy on e-bay, not from aquatraders

4) only the first models were catching fire (heard so)

5) is there a 20" fixture with ACTINICS and MH? if yes, i will gladly buy it ...but there is none, so I prefer taking the risk I guess

PS...the search function only works .... for premium members I guess; it is always busy for me 'cept around 4-5 a.m. in the morning

If your planning on running a 20K MH bulb you don't need actinics.

lol..I already have the 20k inside my fixture; my personal preference is that I need more blue so I can show of some color of my inhabitants; it's something ,like i have already mentioned:personal ; before buying the coralife I was guessing that one 20k would suffice,,,,but I was wrong. and my tank is 20" long...so i can't buy anything longer than that

You're welcome, it didn't seem like that much of a secret.
Instead of hitting the search button at the top of thehome page, in the left collumn under "main menu" 10 or so items down, click "search tools" and it takes you right to the page I provided link for.
I found it by accident, only saw search, & clicked

Glad to help

If you want more blue than you should go with a 14K bulb, the phoenix 14K is the bluest bulb I've seen.

if you like living in a home. Dont get any odyssea products..... I had a Odyssea Blue LED bar and the power cabled frayed up. Ugh what a hazard. Everything should be UL listed inorder to be sold to the public.
