That looks awesome, the colors really pop out against the black backround, how is the starboard working for you with nitrate levels and appearance

The hammer is spot fed Mysis shrimp 2-3 times a week. It loves it.

Well as far as appearance... I like the look. Im still going through a bit of a red algae bloom that seems to prefer the starboqrd over anything else in the tank. I dont mind because it makes it easy to clean it off. The nitrates have higher than normal lately but I think I have figured it out. I did not silicone around the SB and I looked behind and below (the stand allows me to see the bottom of the tank) and its poo-city under the SB. Im switching to a new 10 gallon that is drilled w/ overflow and will be adding a 7 gallon custom acrylic sump this weekend. Step 1 will be to silicone the new SB into the new tank. I had zero Nitrates for a long time but as the funk has collected... they have risen.

Thank you both for your comments.

your tank is beautiful for a 10g.....

I turn all pumps off and then use a dropper from a test kit to drop the mysis directly into the polyps near the "mouth" of the FS.... it "opens" up and I let it sit for about 30 min before turning on the pumps.

Sometimes it wont accept the shrimp and they just blow off once I turn the pumps back on...

just don't forget to turn the pumps back on. could lose a lot of livestock from oxygen depletion.

well if you have a return pump or skimmer working while they're off, you're in the clear. but completely stagnant water is not good for a long period of time.
