Anyone else see "Nature" tonight on KVIE?
Just got finished watching "Encountering Sea Monsters" on Channel 6. It was a killer show on Cephalopods and some of the footage looked a very much like what we saw when Chrissie Huffard gave her presentation on octopusses a few months ago. They were even showing Lembeh Straights, Indonesia where she did some of her studys. Flamboyant Cuttlefish in Lembeh, Bluering Octopusses in Australia, and the giant Humbolt squids in the Sea of Cortez to name a few. Very cool stuff!
Man, I need to get TiVo... |

I recorded it and just watched it this morning.
I don't know if you guys have a high definition signal, but I could not believe the picture quality on this program. It was absolutely amazing. Cam

I'll scope it out tonight, looks cool! Gotta love KVIE, they have a lot of good shows on public TV. Hey I caught one of those squid in the Sea of Cortez this past summer... big, nasty, and reeling them in kicks your butt!

No I missed it, but did you guys see that one on the discovery channel a few weeks back? It was on jellyfish. And had the most spectacular computer animation of the whole process from egg to finish.Surprisingly they are almost identical to the growing process that corals start from. In fact they are an attached "polyp" for some time before eventually using there tentical to actually lift off the substrate and become the jellyfish were use to seeing.
