Just wondering about the club DIY reactors...

At the workshop, I was just chatting with a few of the other members and it seems like not many people ended up using the DIY reactors that they built!

I was just wondering how many people use theirs and how they are doing?

I didn't build one, since I have one (also DIY...but not by me). Just curious!

Also curious as to what other DIY stuff might be coming down the pipe, if any... (Yes, yes, I know, this topic always comes and goes...)

I guess the tile saw and dremel at the meeting stirred up my DIY genes ! heh heh!

At last check OrientalExpress is still using his. I haven't gotten around to putting mine together, but also purchased one two (one to use on one tank and one to use on the other upcoming tank).

Patrick, the original design was for something like a 350g or 400g tank. The ones we built should easily handle 200g because there is so much media.

Yeah.. It leaked because I didn't have teflon tape on the threads though.. Put teflon on the threads and you'll be good to go=)

Cool. I thought it was leaking at one of the joints. Also, do you really need the small tank that it's sitting on? I have limited space left under my tank.

Mine started to leak (very slowly) out of the top. All it needed was a little twist and it was good as new. All i noticed was salt creep. It was that slow

considering that there is only a month left in this year, and most of that is taken up by vacations for the majority of the US, what did you have in mind ?
