CLEAR BUBBLE ALGEA?? A bit STRANGE looking!!

Last night I was looking at my tank at night with a flash light and noticed something I haven't seen before. It looked like little clear bubbles (not air bubbles) but clear whitish bubbles with two small holes on each side of the bubble. I also noticed a few places where I see little white fuzzy like bumps.

I have no idea what this is.... does it sound like bubble algea or is that mainly green???

I want to address this asap before it turns into a problem.

Please don't suggest taking the rock out and scrubbing.. that isn't possible at this stage of the game. They are bottom rock holding everything up!

My tank has been running for 6 weeks.

90 gal
140 lbs LR
100 lbs live sand bed
sump with media filter & bio balls
protein skimmer
metal halide
UV filter

Water
Amm - 0
Nitrate - 0
Nirtite - 0
pH - 8.3
Calicum - 390
Alk - 2.97
Phosphate - 0
Temp - 80

Any advice please!!!!

Thanks
Tammy

I had quite a bubble algae outbreak about 6 weeks into uptime on my new tank. I tried to remove a few and popped one so I decided I would add an emerald crab and just leave them be.

The emerald crab must still be enjoying other algaes because he hasn't touched the bubble yet, but I've noticed all the bubbles have pretty much turned clear. I think this is a sign of bubble algae recession and it is dying.... at least I hope.

I always assumed that the empty bubbles meant that it had popped somehow and was going to therefore turn up in more places...

Tunicates or pineapple sponges perhaps. Post a photo or use the search for a picture.
