Question acceptable number of fish??

I have a 75 gallon setup thats been up for about 2 months now.

We added:
1 - Royal Gramma
1 - Blue Tang
1 - Yellow Tang
2 - Orange Speckled Gobys

I want to add at least a flame angel, if not more.

Is this too much??

Thanks in advance!

I guess that depends on how big your current fish are and how long you plan on keeping them. I would say you have enough now but if your tangs arent very big you might be ok with another.

The tangs are all very young.

The yellow is 2 - 3" long, and the blue is about 2".

you could add more...but first how old is your tank? how much life rock, and what kind of skimmer you running?

You could probably do a Flame without problems, but I'd be concerned with the Tangs long-term.

Tank is just a bit over 2 months old.

Ive got about 150lbs of live rock, and im running a euro-reef rs6-2.

I really like the flame angels

Id also like to get a pair of clowns later down the road (Im waiting for at least another 3-6months so I can add some anemones first).

with that much l.r. taking up territory in the 75g. those tangs are-IMO-definitely not suited for that small of an area.

if you are thinking of adding clowns & a pygmy angel down the road your tangs(most likely yellow) will probably harass them all

i'm not trying to be tang police but with what you already have i'd say you have too much & then to add a pygmy angel and clowns........mama mia!

Totally fine. Enjoy the hobby. Buy fish. Take care of them diligently. You can never bring the sea into your house so just do the best you can with what you can afford and be conscientious.

Evil and Eagles,

Yes they have lots of room. The way Ive done the scaping is the majority of the rock is built up along the back and verticaly on the left side of the tank.

There are TONS of caves and areas for them to swim thru/around.

A pic for you (this is about 2 weeks ago):

The yellow and blue tang (for lack of a better term) school together. They eat off the same rocks at the same time, swim together etc.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the feedback!

Looks fine to me for tangs to swim -- 4' long with some open space up top. Should nudge those rocks off the left wall if you can, or at least enough for swimming spaces.

Creating gaps between the rocks will be good for your non-tangs to hide, also. It may all be there. It's tough to see from the photo.

The person who said the yellow tang will attack your clowns is probably right. You want to introduce fish from least to most aggressive, so the clowns can establish themselves.

Let us know how two tangs and an angel all get along.

Good luck.

the blue will need a larger tank, but for now, I think you'll do fine with a flame, although it really is up to your yellow tang to decide if he would like to share his house with one.
