dealer that sells bta

i went to Amazon pets and they sold me a sebae anemone and said it was a bta. I doubt it was because its tentacles dont have bubble tips and it takes on the appearance of a sebae. Anyone here know where they have gotten a bta and are sure of it. The anemone is not healthy because of 1)I have PC lighting, not MH and 2) the ocellaris clown that is hosting it is totally battering it.

I m going to return it to Amazon pets.

i m also wondering if a carpet anemone would do well under PC lighting.

well many bubble tips lose their bubbles... infact I've seen those that go under intense lighting tend to lose their bubbles more. As for the BTA, depends how far you want to drive, I know some up here in San Fran but you may not want to come that far.

I wouldn't put a carpet anemone under PC lights.

Agreed...MOST BTA's won't have bubble tips. Some maintain them, most don't. No one has a solid reason for it. Lighting, current, food sources, etc. MOST LFS will have them, and there are usually several for sale on this forum. IMO, it's better to buy a tank-raised clone, than to get one from a store.

It not in season for RBTA at the moment so you will be looking to pay a high price. I also know that there is a limited amount coming from Indo which drive the price up. I have only seen RBTA in two place in SF which one place I will never buy from.

A little off topic, but about the bubble tips....

My main RBTA split in my nano then the split split and then the split split and so on. So now I have one big rose and 6 small roses all in my 12. All of the roses except the big one that didn't split have their "bubble" tips back. I wish I could hook someone up w/ one but the splits of splits are only like 2". i'm sure a reefer in here has an anemone for ya. Good luck

When I bought mine, it had no bubbles. It was very tiny. As it grew, it started to form them on some of the tentacles. I guess it was happy. Now it has been over 8 months, and it has tripled in size but no bubbles.
