Spider Man - I didn't think it was that great

I just saw spider man today, and I guess I was a little disappointed. After all the hype and money surrounding it, i expected more. Anybody else? Don't get me wrong, it was decent, but not as good as everyone is saying. What did you think?

I havent seen it yet, but I have heard from a like-minded friend that it was a disappointment as well. I will of course judge for myself

I am going to Star Wars Tuesday night at midnight with all the freaks, cooks and other fanatics...should be a good time if just for the people watching.

Not sure why you folks were disappointed?, I thought it was very good. It followed the origins of the comic book without getting corny! The actors did a great job. I had forgotten about the bully Flash Thompson, and Peters Friend Harry Osborn played just like the character from the comics, The effects of web swinging were fantastic. The only thing that I expected from being a long time Spiderman comic collector was when Peter Parker donned the Spiderman suit and went into action he dropped one liner jokes constantly. Other than that very slight omission I thought the movie was fantastic. I expect to see this movie several more times...

PS, Did anybody catch the appearance of Stan Lee in this movie???

Took my daughter to see it friday night. We found it quite enjoyable. Even my wife liked it, and she's hard to please

Star Wars is going to be released on Thursday May 16th. So it would have to be 12:01 then.

To bad I already read the Novelization. I enjoyed that. Hope the move is as good.

Thumbs up

Fishhub took me the first day it opened which was also my birthday (won't tell you which one but, boy!!!! am I old!!!) I was a comic book freak as a kid and Spiderman was my favorite. I loved all the jokes and he was just way cooler than Superman or Batman.

I agree with Aquaman - it was true to the comic book character, not too campy, just amusing. I especially enjoyed when he was first discovering what had happened to him, the way he bulked up overnight, etc. And his first costume! hahaha!

Whoever was doing the stunts had the moves down great, too. The poses looked like they were straight out of the comics. The only thing I missed was him referring to himself as "Spidey." I think he did say it once, though.

Needless to say, this old lady really enjoyed it. I was surprised, Fishhub liked it a lot, too. He kept saying, "blockbuster, it's going to be a blockbuster." I think he was right.

Dresden - I normally wait also. I had a free pass to SM, and just wouldn't miss SWAOTC for anything! I'm sure It'll be full of cel-phone rings, and people talking. Based on the trailers and what I've read, It's gonna KICK A**!!!!!!!!!

I went with several of my brothers and my wife. My 2 brothers who read the comics really liked it[as did I], my 3 brothers who didn't where disappointed[didn't think that there was enough action].
I found that there was a little too much romance in it but I think its the best movie I've seen so far this year.

Well based on the comics. Could have used better action scenes. A little corny too. But still a good movie.

I'm gonna get my tickets for star wars now too.. gonna watch it at one of the big theatres in manhatten ooo...
