My cleaner has never attacked my snails.

They were alive, and the shrimp was killing/eating the snail, or the shrimp was just cleaning out the shell of a dead snail?

That sounds reall odd. You may want to trade the shrimp back to the lfs for credit.

My cleaner shrimp completely ignores my nassarius snails but nails another species of snail that came on my live rock. Guess it's a individual preference.

They will clean up the dead snails, but will not attack them viciously for eating.

I have heard that hermit crabs would, maybee your thinking hermits? They do this to get some food and a new bigger shell when they grow.Because eventually they outgrow their old shell and need to find a replacement.

Its a good idea to have a refrence sample for alk test kits. 1.1350 grams of baking soda in 1gallon of distilled water=10dkh. Check your alkalinity test kit!
