180 G MH setup?
I have a 180 G acrylic tank i am upgrading to MH. the tank is 72"L x 24"W x 24" H. How many MH and what wattage will I need? I plan on keeping soft corals along with LPS and SPS. Would 2 400w be enough. I would like to avoid having a nh directly above my center brace if possible. Also what are some websites that has some good prices on retros?

Most people use 3 but you could do 2 but the ends of the tank will be shaded. If you go with 2 400 Watt MH's you will have 4.4 watts. If you have 3 you will have 6.6 watts per gallon. I went with http://www.aquariumlight.com/ for my setup, thay have really good prices from other sites that I have seen and alot of options for there systems.

If there is a center brace, I would go with the 2 X 400w. Center braces suck on 6 ' tanks.

I use three 250W DE SLS Pendants over my 180.
