Clown trigger in a Reef tank??

I have a 180 G FOWLR I already have the clown trigger he is about 6-7 inches. I was thinking on converting it to an aggressive reef if possible. He is housed with several small damsels ranging from 3/4"- 1". He has not messed with them or my hermit crab. Has anyone every had one and kept it with corals?

I was thinking of trying a couple of small frags and see how he does with them to start.

Thanks for any and all input.

Mike

It won't work in a reef, and like the guy above me said don't put it with other fish you want to keep. You might could do it in a 300+ with other big aggresives but a 180 is too small to for anything but a CT species tank.

He said the CT is housed with damsels in 180g tank, I say try some softies, just small frags like leathers or shrooms, But I would not try a Brain coral or zoos yet.

If you do try this Mike just glue your frags down to the larger rocks so the CT will not be able to move them under or behind the rocks.

If i do try some frags what is the best way to introduce them so it does not look like i am putting food in. Should i put the corals in at night when he is sleeping???

That's what I would do ... introduce them at night, I add snails & hermits at night to my FOWLR. Let us know how this works out for you.

Does anyone know how a CT would be with hard corals SPS? I seen some of you have kept them with soft corals but what about hard corals?

I posted earlier that mine is fine with softies, mine will eat hammer and has had a green slimer meal if that helps any.

He would likely be well-fed if kept with SPS.
IME, most people who have "success" keeping them with softies eventually come home to find their corals gone.
