wood tank

i know that there are plans out there for building a tank out of wood but instead of waterproofing the wood couldn't you line the whole tank with a pond liner and then use the black foam to seal the liner and then put the glass on. Any ideas

Yes many people have done this with no problems. Alot don't because of fear of tears. Urchins are to be avoided in all plywood tanks, they may eat a hole through the epoxy or tear the pond liner. Other than that just make sure you get it very flat before you fill with water.

wonder if fiberglass would work better. the pond liner will work, just get it very flat, and glue it in place. i would double it, just in case.. luck and keep us posted

Theres a guy on Saltwaterfish.com named Bang Guy that made a 900 gallon lagoon or something like that. He used the exact method your talking about.
