My New Skimmer!
Here she is. Custom built for my by Reefalot here in houston. Uses 2 Sedra 5000 recirc pumps with needle wheel impellers.
Well enough with that, here's what you want : Here it is nearing completion: This is it, installed and running (been running for 5 minutes): Here's the bottom w/ the skimmer running. Can you say NO to microbubbles? Hope yall like it, and i sure hope it performs to my high hopes. Definately has had the R&D to make it a very good skimmer.

I wanted to setup a recirc skimmer but i wonder how people calculate (besides just watching the water level) how much you need to put into it (gph).

you need to put in a very little amount of water, so i've been told. Right now we replaced the old feed pump w/ a maxijet powerhead so we should be running 200-300gph right now.
