With may passion for lionfish/scorpionfish, it's extremely frustrating....all of the local LFS say they are always on the list, but when they try to order they never seem to be in stock.

Our only good luck has been in the Gulf of Mexico...we caught 8 S. Brasilenisis last year, so far the only one of several species that are supposed to be here...these are small, colorful, hardy and get along in groups...pretty ideal actually.

Could u post a pic of ur dragon wrasse? I know it's off topic but I love juveniles and was always curious what a real adult looks like.

Thanks ... Jose

Sure...as anyone who's been here a while knows, it's tough to get me to post fish photos (NOT )

I apologize in advance for the quality of the picture, but like many wrasses, the hard part is to get it to sit still long enough for a shot with any detail to speak of.

The Red Sea version, like many other species, is considerably more colorful as an adult.....ours, at 6"-7" is still in what would be considered the "initial phase".....wrasses as a rule undergo at least three color changes in their lifetime, 1) the juvenile phase, which is often very similar to the female/initial phase, and finally the terminal phase, at which time the fish becomes a "supermale".

Mike - He certainly looks a lot different than the juv. I like them when small but not sure if I'd want them the size of yours!

Thanks again!

No really rare fish in my tank but I'd like to see pictures of any Crosshatch Triggers that anyone has in their tank.

Mike....

Off topic sorry guys I just had to ask.......I just noticed you have a seahorse tank. What species are you keeping and how long have you had your tank.

I think it's funny I know quite a few people who keep puffers and seahorses....in different tanks of course

Let me try and keep this short to avoid a thread hijack......we usually keep local species (two large, the dwarfs, pipehorses and several pipefish species...all are relatively short lived and we propagate and share when possible) that pop up in our seine net while collecting live feeder fish in grass flats.

Back when this thread was started, RC used to allow people to attach jpeg files. They changed midway through last year, and dropped most of them, I think.

Are you sure that it wasn't just a juvie? I've never heard of a miniature betta, but I guess there could be one out there...

Yea they're called like dwarf comets. I saw one once, they're pretty rare but a beautiful fish. I'm not sure how much they go for but when I saw it a guy had already bought it and they were bagging it.
