Stupid Quest. RO/DI
Do you still need to de-cholarimine, i.e. add "Prime", the RO/DI'ed water?

nope, carbon stages remove it.

When I started buying water from an LFS (before I had my own RO system) I asked that same question. Back then the answer was yes. Another reason that I don't go to the Fish Tank in Sunnyvale anymore.

The best answer to the question is MAYBE...It depends on the membrane and what kind of carbon filter is used. Just the membrane won't do it.

Hmm the guys at Watts Premier told me it would do it, now it might have something to do with a double carbon block that my system has, so there's more contact time after the chlorine is stripped then goes the ammonia. So I'll agree with boomers MAYBE answer, I just know mine does And that's without a DI component.

Let's be clear here. Not ALL carbon will remove cholarimine. As a matter of fact, a large percentage of the cheap stuff out there doesn't. If you're gonna buy Carbon, buy good stuff and make sure it doest what you expect.
