Razors, shavers ohh my

I hate shaving , but I love being clean cut. I wanted to get some opinions on what everyone is using for razors, and electric shavers.

I use the Mach3 by Gillette, and while I do like the shave I find the replacement razors to be a bit on the expensive side. I also think that the shaving head is real big and makes it hard to shave around your nose.

I have used those disposable razors but find that they cant keep a sharp edge very long or suck to begin with.

I have no experience with electrical shavers but from what I have heard they don't give a very deep shave.

It would be great to get some feedback on:

Which razor you are currently using and which ones you will never again use.

Why you prefer electric over regular and vice versa.

How you get the best shave: Including products before and after shaving.

I've been using a Norelco electric with the Mach3 Power (battery operated, vibrates) with much success. I only use the Mach3 to clean up spots that the Norelco can't get to, so the heads last a lot longer. They use the same head as all of the other Mach3 razors, you don't have to spend the extra cash for the premium heads.

All by itself, the Mach3 power is a pretty nice razor. If I completely miss a spot, I can take care of it without any water, shaving cream, etc... and it doesn't really bother my skin that much. I wouldn't do my whole face like that, but it's nice to know I can do a quick spotcheck without fear of razor burn.

My hubby has a real thick stubble and he can only use one razor,... the sensor excell, I think its a gillet...

It works great on him and the replacements are cheap and last long!

If you want a nice close shave, get yourself one of these puppies
http://www.everythinghome.com/hotlam...+shaving+cream
My wife got me one of these and the difference is stunning. It is not just the razor that makes a good shave.
My barber tells me the key to a nice close shave is the temp of the shaving cream. If your face is warm and the cream is cold, your pores close up making a closer shave impossible.

It's the M3 for me. I've got a mild case of eczema and my skin will get blotchy if I shave more than once or twice a week, so I keep it down to once a week. But when I do, so far the M3 is the only thing I've found non-electric that's worth a crap. I can't afford those $100-200 electric shavers so I have no experience with them.

omg - thats a horrible haircut - whenever i see a mullet I have to elbow someone and point rudely while tears run down my cheeks.

But Hey to each his own - looks like they are keeping it in the family.

lol

BTW: Mach3 power is the BEST - I use it everywhere and its great.

husband has one as well he likes his and always has great results.

hmm, thats so weird because the sensor excel is Gilette's 2-bladed precurser to the 3-bladed Mach3. I used to use the excel but the mach works so much better for me. strange

havn't tried the new green elecric one...but if the diference is as big as the difference between the mach3 and the mach3 turbo...ill like it. As for electric razors, ive tried the best and just can't use 'em...and oh do I want to so bad

I hate it when people don't appreciate the universal applications of my hair style. Having it short in the front it is very presentable in the business world; while, the shortness of the posterior allows for me to curl/perm/flair when in social surroundings.

Someone out of what I would guess, "shear jealousy", erased my baby picture. I will post it again so I can show everyone how much will power my parents had in allowing my hair to grow as a small infant. I hope more people come to realize the importance of short hair in front, with a little something longer in the back!

i use the elecric/ blade system too- a braun electric destroys the toughest beard stub- and any missed spots are quickly taken care of w/ 2 swipes of a twin or trip blade
the elcric does take some time to get used to- i like the fact that i can shave on the way to work or while i watch the news
there is another realm o f amnliness?
i have friends that shave all of their bodies- no they don't swim-hink they just have little body hair- so they get rid of it - i don't understand it though- just my thoughts
