FOR SALE 500 Gallon Acrylic Tank

I am selling a custom 500 gallon acrylic tank with lids and, filter with built in skimmer, pump, reverse osmosis, built in overflow, and all the plumbing. it would be a pickup only since shipping would be way too much. its in Algonquin IL an hour from chicago. This tank is worth way over $20,000. There is no stand though because it was built into the wall. I am selling it for $10,000 obo.

Not to be argumentative, but how do you figure it is "worth way over $20,000"?
You can buy 535 gallon acrylic tanks for about $3,000 online.

Granted yours does come with some equipment...but $17,000 worth of equipment?

I was thinking, maybe he meant way over $2,000.
And he is asking $1,000 for it.

I'd pay $1,000 if it wern't all scratched up or something.

guys it all depends on what you count as money into the tank...livestock?equiptment? electric, Time ect...

I can easily figure well over 50,000 probably closer to 100,000 into my 300 gallon tank over the last 7 years! Ouch that hurt to admit. Thank god the wife doesn't log on here!

I admit I assumed that the tank is empty since there was no reference made to any livestock.
I may well be wrong though.

hehe I paid a mere $500 for my "used" (read that as bought and never setup) 300g acrylic, still shrink-wrapped, still on pallets, with the "acrylic peel coat" still on it.. I got a steal, and I know it.

$10,000 can buy you a new glass tank of that size with most of the equipment...

Who made it?
and if it's a grand I'm interested...

This tank is reef ready, it comes with about 2inches of crushed coral, 4 huge fake corals and some fake rock. the measurements are about 7'9"L X 3'6"H X 2'8"W i think, the acrylic is about 1-2inches thick i would have to double check both of those. yes it is well worth over $20,000!!!

I'd tend to disagree. Also, there is a very big difference between 1-2".
If you're serious about selling something, you really ought to list everything that is included and details. Not take my word it's worth 20,000 dollars.

From the Do's and Don'ts:

Finally, a word on etiquette. These are not discussion forums. If you wish to purchase or trade, please post. However, if you only wish to comment on the quality of someone else's trade item or their price, with no intention of buying/trading, please keep it to yourself. These type of posts only sidetrack the thread away from the goal of the original poster - trading or selling their item.

Just an FYI

Ok, next time I'll just remove the thread for its commercial overtones...

Notice the occupation??? Yeah...

I let one of the other mods move this... It WAS in the Large Tank Forum, NOT the selling forum when MOST of the posts were made...
