Good LFS in St. Louis?
Hi! Can anyone in the St. Louis area recommend a good saltwater fish store???
After several message board searches, the best I've heard of was a place called Salt Water City, but when I went to Clayton to track it down it was nowhere to be found!? Has it gone out of business? (The messages I read recommending it were dated 2003) I've been to a place called Beldt's that didn't impress me much. And the only other place I've found is an outfit called STL Marine Solutions in St. Charles. Is there a better option in the area that I just can't find? Or will I have to resort to online/mail-order to find the equipment and selection I'd like? Thanks in advance for any recommendations! |

You might want to check out the St. Louis reef club forum located here on Reef Central
As far as stores are concerned..... Saltwater City has gone out of business. Beldt's is okay. Marine Solutions is a good store. Some other good stores are... Andy's Animal House in Valley Park Clayton Pet Emporium in Clayton If you want more information, feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the help! Sad to hear Saltwater City went out of business- was hoping they had just moved. Every post I read raved about them and said they were doing good business. I will have to check out those other stores, but if they are on par with Marine Solutions that would still be the closest to me.
And thanks for the direct to the STL reef club. |

i have heard that the owner of saltwatercity yelled at people alot, but can't back that up, as i never went there. griss is right, look at seasl.org for all the local stores. marine solutions and petopia are closest to me so thats where i go. marine solutions has better selection, petopia has better prices and they are nicer.
