I am hoping that boston wins just because of the whole curse thing. its funny how they blame that on not winning any world series for the last 87 years.
GG. game 2 will be just as good and this series will go to 7 games.

Good game. A fine display of pitching and defense by the Red Sox.

The top of the seventh offered a couple lite moments. First when the pinch runner fell on his face trying to round second. I thought he was gonna dislocate something. Even his teamates in the dugout were laughing. And again when Manny did his...um...pop up slide in left field. It almost cost the Sox the game and I shouldn't have laughed but I was lmao anyway.

I hope us Bostonians have another good day. Pats/Jets at 4pm and then game two tonight. Fingers crossed!

Is anyone old enough to remember 1967, the last time these teams met in the WS?
My dad was able to get tickets for both the 67 and 68 series so not only was I able to go, I missed school as well!!

Wow kewl! I was lucky enough to go to one of the 1975 WS games at Fenway.

Now in game two the Red Sox pitching was clutch, again. But the defense! Jeesh, four errors, again!

I'm glad the Sox won those two games. They will need them.

I'll be pleased if the Sox can win just one game down there. This thing isn't over by a long shot. The Cards have a great team and they have the edge at home.

I'm sorry that the Cards couldn't get a good hotel. They had to stay in Quincy. It was a busy weekend in town but that's an embarrassment!

I hope the BoSox wrap it up ASAP so Schilling doesn't have to go back on the mound again and cause more serious injury to himself.

The cards will probly win all of their home games, and then boston will finish them off in game 6 and 7.

The cards have the best home field advantage of the whole league, but I dont think they can win a game in boston.

The Curse would still exists...

I guess The Curse really would exist if say the Cardinals loose Tuesday night, making the Series 3-0 and then the Card's come back and win the final 4 games..........

Pedro will win tonight. Suppan will not be able to handle Bostons lineup.
The Cards might win the next two. The cards pitching just can't stand up to the bats of the Sox.

The series won't go past 6 games. No way.

9pm your time. Then if your out at a bar watching it with 100 other fans jumping all over, like you should be, then try getting home in time for work Monday morning.....

LOL.

We only need the next two, it wont even come back to Fenway.....

I heard a bunch of 'authoritiies' saying the NL would clean up either the Yank-mes or the Sox...doesn't look like that is happening.

It's not over until the last out of the last win. I'm a huge Cards fan but would not feel bad losing to the BoSox. Fenway has always been my favorite park. Hope to someday make it there to see a game, plus a player is from my town. Daubach, to bad he is not playing.

Tom

P.S. I'm just glad the Yankees are not in it! 25 million dollars a year and he has to try to cheat to win. LOL!

I'm really surprised how easy Boston is making it look! I really thought St. Louis was the only team who had a shot at beatin' the Yankees. Boy, I'm glad the BoSox beat the Yanks or else it would've been another Yankee championship!

After the first three games, the Sox are just playing better baseball then the Cardinals. Rolen and Edmonds need to get their bats on the ball and start making things happen. And what in the world was Suppan thinking last nite at third base?

I still like the poetic justice of the Cards sweeping the final four games. My wife, who frankly hates sports, has said that it will go seven games - that the sports mechanic will make sure of that.

Can you imagine the TV audience Fox would have for the seventh game if the Cards take the next three?
