TippyToex,

Are you using an add on lens? How did you set your white balance? I have tried but I just can't seem to get the color just right. I am using the cannon G5 as well.

1wireefer- For the tort picture I use the cheap little 58mm add on lens. My MH bulbs are 10k and have found that having the white balance set on daylight does the trick 90% of the time. That is what I used for the all of the pics I posted

Yet I have recently tried the custom setting (not difficult to do) and am more pleased with it's results when trying macro pictures.

Here's a pic of my Porites, since I can't even justify posting any Acro pics here . Nice stuff, fellas!

No special lense, just the camera. However, I have been shooting the pic on highest resolution and quality setting and then cropping out the parts that are best in focus. Here are a few that aren't cropped.

That's a good pic Crab , maybe turn off the pumps so that the polyps aren't whipping around. That should help produce a more clear pic.

Thanks for the tip. Just out of curiosity, how do you have your focus set?
Thanks again,
Steve

Whenever I see those great macro shots, it almost always seems that it was taken with a nikon coolpix. If I remember right they have a focus length of around 1.6".
