Lighting hood got here, but no way to suspend it... Help!

Hey all,

I purchased (yes sorry for all of you die-hard DIYers) a Hamilton lighting hood. Unfortunately it does not have anything to suspend the lighting with. So... Out come the tools on the $900 hood (ouch).

What I was thinking was centering a hole about 2" from each end drilled down through the reflector and the outer shell. Then putting in an round eye bolt. Then on the inside I would put one of those long strip washers to distribute the weight. I was going to use 2 things to suspend it. The first would be 2 pieces of lamp chain, the second was with braided steel wire running from the first hook, to the second hook and up to the ceiling. The concept is to provide a pulley system for when I need to get into the tank. Pull the steel wire, put it in an appropriately placed clamp, work on the tank, reverse process.

Comments? Will it work?
