Question Turboflotor 1000: Rio or Ocean Runner pump?

I Just bought a new Aqua Medic skimmer on Ebay for $89 still in the box and wanted to ask which pump I should buy for it.
The recommended pumps are the Rio 1200 and the Ocean runner 2700 (made by AquaMedic).
I have not used either so which one is best?
I found the rio for $26.99 and the Ocean Runner for $49.99.

I have had both and prefer the ocean runner as the main pump with a MJ as the feedpump (unless your plumping it in somewhere /shrug

Do not get a Rio!!! They are timebombs, and will eventually nuke your tank with a nice oily substance, and a shock.

Do a search on the forums for experiences with Rio's.

The turbo floater (atleast the model I had)
Needs a pump to run through the needlewheel, and another to feed water to the skimmer.
If you dont have the second pump, it needs to be plumbed into your return or or plumbing somewhere.

I think most people suggest a Maxi Jet 1200 for a feed pump. 1000's are decent skimmers, enjoy!
