The picture seems to be attached just fine.
Looks like you have an aiptasia anemone that may be stinging your clam.

Yep that's an aptasia. Get that sucker off the clam immediately.

BTW, was the aptasia attached to the clam when you bought it originally or did it recently appear? Just wondering...

Nice clam you got there... Agree I take that anemone off.. It will cause only trouble to the clam..

Regardless of your problem, that is one nice clam you got there!

i had apstasia in my tank and i put a peppermint shrimp in. the first thing the shrimp did was went right over and ate the apstasia. i have five or sixpeppermints in my tak now and have not had apstasia since.

yeah...what a pain...

hello and thanks for the replies.

i totally appreciate your input and advice.

yeah, i thought it might be an anenome when i saw the gut cavity and that it seemed to just balloon when i put it in my tank.

the anenome came with the clam. i didnt notice it when i picked it out. what a pain. i had a pretty pest/parasite free tank until this guy. now i see another anenome cropping up.

i heard that scraping it off can cause a aiptasia bloom cuz the little bits all become aiptasia's.

i heard of the injecting it with concentrated lemon juice trick though i think a toothbrush sounds a whole lot easier.

any info would be totally appreciated!
