Killer peppermint
Hey i got a peppermint shrimp to take care of a little aiptasia but he keeps eating my snails. Has anyone else had this happen? Any tips on how to catch him? thanks

Is he killing them for sure, or possibly cleaning their already deadness up?

Sure it isn't a carmel shrimp? From what I understand the carmel shrimp is often confused as a pep and they eat corals so I don't think snails would be out of the question. A way to try to catch it is hold a piece of fish or mysis and he may jump on your hand. Mine do any way. I'm not 100% sure he's actually killing them but i had no problem with snails before him and now my tank looks like a battlefield with prob. 8 snail shells astrea and cerith in the middle exactly where he likes to hang out. I'll definetly check out the link thanks

I have 4 peppermints and about a dozen snails that get along just fine...so far.

Took a look at the thread and its definetly a peppermint. Same coloration at least.

Heres how i caught a nusence crab might work for a shrimp. Get a small jar and put a couple peices for krill in the bottom propted up at and angle should go in to eat and when it does snatch up the jar. Might work.
