Powerheads/Flow in 6gal reef
YAY my first post on RC.
I have a 6 gallon Eclipse system, I have modified the lights and have been running for close to 5 months now with no problems and all my chemistry levels have remained perfect. It has the stock filtration Bio-wheel with filter pad and I have 1 Tom Dive Clean Micro Pump (47.5gph) for extra flow. I was wondering if upgrading the power head to a Hydor Koralia Nano - 256 GPH would be better or to much flow for a system this small. or if it might be better just to add another Tom Dive. Any other mods or advice that can be used for this system would be greatly appreciated, I am sure that there are lots of cool and probably more beneficial things I can do for this system until I can upgrade. I do intend to upgrade this system to a Red Sea Max, but that won't happen till closer to summer time as I am currently cycling a 90g FOWLR and all finance is being poured into that. 6lbs of LR and a 2" SB (can't remember the lbs amount) Livestock Green neon star polyps Orange ricordea Green ricordea grape coral (looks like hammer coral to me) Green mushroom Purple Colony Polyps 2 Nemos (which will be moved to my 90g FOWLR after cycle) 2 yellow banded coral shrimp 1 skunk shrimp 2 hermits 3 snails |

you can get a minijet 606 and its rated at 82–153gph with it pulling only 6 watts.
