Majestic Angelfish: reef-safe?
hi there
I'm hypnotized by a little majestic angelfish. I have: - yellow polyps. - 2 rose anemones - mushroom coral - green star polyps - 2 feather dusters - pair of gold-rimmed Maroon clowns (spawning; will a majestic eat their eggs?) - black sea urchin - snails & hermits - small purple tang - purple pseudochromis I've heard that Majestics will pick at clams & scallops, so maybe I'd be alright? Can I have my cake (Majestic) & eat it (in a reef tank), too? Please share with me your thoughts. Take care, Bjorn |

As with most angels, its hit or miss. Feather dusters will probably be toast, polyps are a maybe, but everything else should be fine. LPS and clams are the usual tasty items on the menu, so dont plan on adding any in the future. I'd get a small one and keep it well fed for your best shot at it leaving your corals alone.

If your tank is the 44 gallon cube listed under your current tanks I wouldn't try it,too small for the Angelfish.

Along the same lines, how much damage does the nipping do? Are we talking a little irritation or the ultimate demise of the coral? Just curious.

We're talking about a 95g Tank... Yeah; I worried about the feather dusters.
Would the Magestic Angel eat the clownfish's eggs? Seems kinda' unlikely, but possible... |
