resealing a 24g aquapod?

My girlfriend got a 24g aquapod with the 150w halide setup. It was real nice and was cycling nicely when we noticed the stand was a bit wet. So we let it go for 3 days hoping that the water was from filling it or topping it off. It ended up being a leak on the bottom peice of glass.

I was wondering what is the best way to reseal this tank? The company is sending us a new one monday and we get to keep this one so I was thinking of a species only setup of sorts.

Any ideas?

Take all the silicon from around the bottom pane of glass. Use the GE window and door 100% silicon with a caulk gun and make a nice continuous bead.

Ive resealed a JBJ Nanocube 12 gallon tank with no leaks. Just hope the leak is not in the back chambers. That's a lot more difficult to reseal.
